What is average Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) processing times

The government of Canada's Employment and Development department is responsible for processing the LMIA applications and is currently experiencing a high number of Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications. When applying for your LMIA application one should always keep in mind that as of September 2021 there are longer processing times for some streams of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).

To reduce any delays from your side always make sure that your LMIA application is complete and you respond promptly to Service Canada's request for any additional information or documentation.

Corresponder.com reached out to the Government's employment department and based on their response following are the average Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) processing times for September 2021 across all processing centres in Canada:

Global Talent Stream and applications that qualify for expedited service have a service standard of 10-business days that is expected to be met 80% of the time. The service standard date starts on the business day after the application has been received.

It is highly recommended by Service Canada that you submit your applications electronically using the LMIA Online portal. To access LMIA Online, an employer and a third party (if applicable) must have a valid Job Bank user account for authentication purposes.

You can register in Job Bank by using the following link - https://tfwp-jb.lmia.esdc.gc.ca/employer/
