HMD Global has sold over 70 million Nokia branded phones in two years

HMD Global Oy is the company that bought the Nokia brand from Microsoft in 2016 and is based in Espoo Finland. On 13th December 2016, HMD announced the release of Nokia 150 and 150 Dual SIM phones. The phones were received positively worldwide driven by past trust in the brand and nostalgia. On 8th January 2017 announced its first Android smartphone, Nokia 6. HMD’s main focus was to provide a well built and affordable range of smartphones with competitive specifications. Over the next two years, HMD was able to sell more than 70 million phones worldwide and was regaining some of its lost market shares and is now ranked among the top 10 smartphone brands.

After the success of Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 Plus HMD announced the release of Nokia 8.1 and will be available worldwide in early 2019.
