Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Lead, Impact Assessment who is a recognized expert and an experienced impact assessment planner, project manager, or regulatory specialist to join the ESG team based in our Vancouver office.
This person will have incorporated a knowledge of environmental regulatory processes with excellent project management skills, along with strong client relationship management and proven business development skills. The person who accepts this role will be highly organized, with attention to detail, quality and project delivery, and a business leader who is able to leverage their network of contacts to build ESG’s presence in the region and globally. As the successful candidate, you will:
Lead and grow the revenue and profit of our existing environmental consulting practice in the areas of Impact Assessment and permitting.
Identify and develop ESG related business opportunities with clients and companies working in the mining, energy and infrastructure sectors.
Provide leadership, technical direction, peer review and advice within our existing environmental consulting practice in collaboration with Hatch’s Business Units, Practices and integral support for business planning and Key Account Management program.
Working with the Global Director for Impact Assessment and Permitting to develop innovative approaches to address the evolving methods and approaches to Impact Assessment.
Apply strong Project Management skills for coordination of key environmental deliverables.
Provide technical and quality review for client deliverables.
Participate in resource planning, mentorship and advisory leadership to project teams.
Work collaboratively with integrated, multidisciplinary teams, liaising with and supporting global peers.
Recruit and develop Hatch’s next generation of environmental leaders.
You bring to the role:
Post-Secondary education in environmental sciences, planning, environmental management, environmental engineering, social impact assessment and/or a related discipline.
A minimum of 10-years experience in managing and delivering Impact Assessment, permitting and regulatory approvals activities on major mining, infrastructure or energy projects.
In-depth understanding of Impact Assessment, permitting and approvals and regulatory requirements across Canada, internationally and within provinces and territories.
Demonstrated business development and client engagement experience.
Ability to lead, mentor and inspire environmental teams, collaborate with peers and integrate with engineering teams.
Experience working on major EPCM projects.
Entrepreneurial with a technical soul.
Effectively managing internal and external stakeholders.
Effective, open communication and presentation style with the ability to plan and deliver best in class, high quality deliverables.
Preferred:
Ability to be flexible, learn and perform challenging tasks outside their area of skills and experience.
Willingness for both domestic and international travel as work requires. International experience is considered an asset.
A recognized Impact Assessment or regulatory expert in Canada and internationally, who has a strong network of contacts with practitioners in industry, government and academia and is looking to take the next step in their career development.
Active participant, presenter and recognized contributor to International Impact Assessment Association and other professional associations for Impact Assessment and related topics.
