About the Role:

The House of Commons Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is currently looking to staff the Business Management Services Officer position.

The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security assumes a ceremonial role; ensures efficient management of communications and information provided by the SAA-CS; maintains an effective liaison with clients, partners and the general public; and manages the Memorial Chamber.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Management Services, the incumbent is responsible for the provision and coordination of the day-to-day delivery of services related to finance, human resources, procurement, contracting and facilities management, and other related administrative services within the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security (SAA-CS). The incumbent provides administrative procedural advice, guidance and support SAA-CS managers and employees.

**Please note that as part of this team, it is expected that employees will be required to come onsite a minimum of three days a week or more upon requirements.

Prerequisites

Education

  • Diploma in Business Administration OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience within financial monitoring/reporting/forecasting as well as procurement and general administrative tasks;
  • Experience working with a variety of operational groups;
  • Experience and/or good understanding of buying and contracting and finance functions as well as human resource functions (staffing/recruitment);
  • Experience working within financial and/or human resource systems.

Asset

Above-average level of communication skills in both official languages, and in a respectful and cooperative manner, with clients, colleagues, service providers and partners.

Competencies

Candidates will be evaluated against the House of Commons Administration Competency Framework – Specialized Support

Outcome

Staff the position of Business Management Services Officer on a determinate basis (temporary). Create a pool of potential candidates that may be considered to staff future vacancies for this position or for other similar and/or related positions on an indeterminate and/or determinate basis. Consideration may be given to candidates with other linguistic profiles.
