About the Role:

The House of Commons' Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Senior IT Planner and Integrator position.

The Senior IT Planner and Integrator (multimedia systems) is accountable for the development and management of comprehensive, integrated, and multi-year services strategies, roadmap and frameworks supporting the House of Common’s long-term objectives and agendas linked to multimedia systems’ directions and plans.

The position is responsible for leading the needs assessments, planning and negotiation for major or long-term multimedia projects. There is a responsibility for ensuring the general oversight and integration across all multimedia plans and projects, for collaborating with internal/external project teams in the determination of the optimal process and approach for short and long-term needs, and for providing senior expertise and advice on the development of solutions, the identification of interdependencies, competing priorities and resource requirements.

The position provides advice and recommendations to senior management on multimedia plans, programs, and opportunities, and ensures their integration in the overall vision and strategies. There is also a responsibility for identifying future initiatives and priorities, supporting senior management in the preparation of funding plans and submissions, and/or contributing to new multimedia systems standards, policies, and guidelines.

Prerequisites

Education

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.

Experience

  • Significant experience supporting the integration of multimedia and audiovisual technologies or related IT field;
  • Experience in developing multi-year plans and roadmaps in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams;
  • Experience uncovering customer requirements and working with senior management;
  • Experience working through several stages of service exploration, definition, and validation;
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to drive consensus and build strong client relationships;
  • Experience conducting industry best practices research to understand and identify trends and business opportunities and needs;
  • Knowledge of broadcast and/or network system configuration.

Asset

  • Broadcast and/or related Engineering degree (e.g. audio engineering, broadcasting engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, etc.

Outcome

  • Staff the position of Senior IT Planner and Integrator on a determinate basis (temporary).
