As an Project Controls Manager, you will be an integral part of our P&T - Capital Program team supporting the Refining & Supply Operations. You will be responsible for leading a team of Project Controls including project controls specialists and an estimator through the planning and execution of cost reporting and management activities to support construction and maintenance-related capital and sustaining capital projects in the Products and Terminal network.

Your roles and responsibilities:
Coach and mentor a team of project controls and an estimator by working closely with them to implement SMART goals in line with overall goals and standards for the organization. Promote discipline, knowledge exchange, and leverage learning experiences through technical coaching.
Build trusting relationships with stakeholders through a collaborative approach that keeps everyone engaged throughout the processes.
Review/approve execution and development of risk analyses of ongoing and future projects works. Coordinate resources related to the analysis, identification, communication, and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
Analyze and communicate information to Capital Program Management and senior leaders on cash flow requirements and cost performance.
Lead Project Controls team with respect to development of accurate and timely project cost baselines, reports and change management.
Develop and formalize project controls-related instructions, procedures, and policies for effective and efficient cost reporting and change management and to be aligned with industry best practice and organizational goals. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify information required for reporting. Develop, and deliver required reports as well as other controls to meet the needs of executive and senior management governance requirements for all programs and projects.
Work closely with senior leaders to understand, align, define, and document long term project and team plans and strategies. Support annual 5-year business planning activities.
Lead meetings to communicate progress and status on key team deliverables and milestones to various stakeholders. Foster and maintain effective collaboration with project managers, third party contractors, supply management, estimating, engineering, and reporting on initiatives.
Complete all requests, review risk, prioritization of capital projects in OPPM. Make sure project cost estimates and schedules reflect an appropriate level of review and challenge.
Provide completed financial data, based on project and portfolio status against budget, schedule, reflecting spend to date, incurred, committed and forecasts to senior leadership.
Manage the total portfolio trended cost forecast and engage with, Project Managers, Estimator, Project Controls, Operations and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope, schedule and cost.

This position primarily works in an office environment; sitting for long periods, using a keyboard, using a computer monitor. Periodic requirement for national/international business travel and limited exposure to a heavy industrial environment.
High level of accountability within this portfolio as this position is accountable for the overall project controls activities for all maintenance and construction projects within Products & Terminals.
Must be able to look at numerous concurrent and upcoming projects and programs to facilitate the assessment of multiple critical paths and prioritize accordingly.
This position also has direct reports and is responsible for managing and coaching performance, career goals, succession planning, and be proactive in addressing and communicating any potential employee-related issues.
Must have strong analytical skills to be able to identify risks and collaborate with team members, stakeholders to develop plans to mitigate those risks.
Must have very strong communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders including senior leaders and project teams.
