Job Description

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the brand and “The Irving” customer experience standards.
  • Greet customers including answering phones, provide clients with the highest level of customer service, demonstrated through a courteous demeanor, and outstanding service.
  • Prepare a variety of foods according to customers' orders or standardized instructions, following approved procedures.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages as well as pre-prepared offerings.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain food preparation and serving areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, refrigeration, and another kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
  • Know and comply consistently with “The Irving” standards (portion sizes, cooking methods, quality), policies and procedures.
  • Handle, store, and rotate all food products and supplies according to “The Irving” policies and procedures.
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used and inform supervisors when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properly.
  • Wash, mix, peel and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
  • Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers, load/ unload dishwashing machines.
  • Close the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations and assists others in closing the kitchen.
  • Train and supervise new food workers if necessary.
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure service standards and efficient operations.
  • Assist in keeping the maintenance of the store and stocking shelves as needed.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities to improve store performance.
