Job Description

Are you a result driven engineer who values safety as a priority? If so we are currently looking for a Regional Engineer in our Fort McMurray Regional office. While in this role you will provide technical engineering knowledge and experience related to pipelines, rotating equipment, storage tanks and associated facilities, ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory standards (CSA Z662, API, Enbridge Standards, etc.) and provide regional technical support in the development and execution of various reliability tools and programs.

What you will do:

  • Assist in the implementation of the Company’s Safety and Environmental programs

  • Provide technical expertise and engineering assistance to various field groups, including Pipeline Maintenance (PLM), Maintenance and Operations

  • Collaboratively collaborate with centralized support groups and act as a liaison between field operations and those groups

  • Work with Electrical Specialist, Mechanical specialist, maintenance teams, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to address equipment failures and design modifications

  • Approve Alternate Isolation Job Plans as per Enbridge’s Safe Work Isolation Policy.

  • Coordinate the development of operating and capital projects while continuing to support the safe and reliable operations of our assets

  • Provide project management for approved capital budget items, including design, development of specifications, preparation of scope of work, acquiring quotations, purchase of materials, contract preparation and administration, cost and schedule tracking and control and inspection as required

  • Be a key resource of the Incident Command System during emergency response activities.

Who you are:

  • Engineering degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with a Minimum 4 years related experience in supporting Field Operations, Pipeline Maintenance and related Oil & Gas related project work

  • Professional engineering designation (P. Eng) in the province of Alberta

  • Proven ability to initiate and manage change, be innovative, think strategically, and work well collaboratively with teams

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.  This includes the ability to effectively interact with peers, internal stakeholders and equipment vendors. Strong written communication skills are crucial for this position

  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and applicable codes is essential

  • Project Management and Pipeline Operations/ Maintenance experience is considered an asset

  • Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5 year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical.

  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a driver’s abstract check prior to hire

Working Conditions:

  • This position is typically based in a Field Office (80%), Field related duties including emergency response (20%)
