Job Description

In this role, you will provide electrical engineering expertise for Enbridge Canada Liquids Pipelines Operations and Projects to support safe and reliable operation of LP electrical assets. Support is focused on electrical power system infrastructure, power system protection engineering, and technical guidance with respect to electrical design codes, industry standards, and Enbridge standards and equipment specifications.

Note: This is a temporary, full-time role for 1 year.

What Will You Do:

  • Provide power systems engineering and technical support.

  • Identify asset performance improvement opportunities, perform gap assessments, identify reliability risks, and work with stakeholders to determine and implement solutions.

  • Serve as the focal point for regional electrical service activities performed by operations and projects ensuring all safety, quality, reliability and operational expectations are met

  • Solve, analyze, and prepare solutions for electrical issues related to medium voltage electrical assets operating, testing and commissioning.

  • Provide technical support to Electrical SME and operations involving electrical relay protection systems, trouble shooting, failure analysis; and arc flash analysis.

Who You Are:

  • Completion of an Engineering degree with a  sound understanding of the Electrical Engineering field with minimum of 10 years of dynamic experience.

  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Alberta.        

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in using electrical engineering analysis software (preferably  SKM) for performing load flow, short circuit and motor starting analyses, protective device coordination, arc hazard analysis, and grounding study.

  • Detailed knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards relevant to electrical installations.

  • Effective two-way communication capability including excellent oral and written skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office based with scheduled travel and occasional urgent response needs related to investigations or field activities.

  • 10% or less travel to the assigned regions is expected, however short-term travel may be more frequent for incident response and/or technical support of work within the region.
