Job Description

You’ll be responsible for performing the testing and certification functions & support for Interac products and services, with focus on IMN related projects. 

This Sr. Specialist role is responsible for defining certification processes, test plans, and performing the testing and certification functions for INTERAC products and services with a focus on Interac Flash, Interac Debit, Interac Cash, ISO 8583 and mobile NFC payments. This role will be a subject matter expert in EMV and payments.  Experience in API software testing is a bonus. The primary function of this role will be to support existing Interac debit card and mobile processes and relationship with card and terminal vendors, certification agents, tool vendors, labs and clients.

You’ll be tasked with developing, enhancing and maintaining certification strategy, processes and documentation and reviewing specification changes to maintain Interac certification process in line with Industry standards and Interac specification evolution. You’ll be responsible for optimizing and continuing improvements of processes.

You will be a contributor to QA processes, QA strategy, and define and update certification processes.

You’ll create certification documents – test plans and processes – and will perform or support in the integration testing of the client’s end to end solution. You’ll also assist in the planning and managing of the successful implementation of releases and onboarding of clients on to the service.

You’re great at…

  • Quality assurance testing and maintaining alignment of certification artifacts with technical specifications and business requirements.

  • Reviewing technical specifications and create test plans. These include Interac specifications, EMVco, ISO and other global payment industry specifications.

  • Creating testing documents – process documentation, integration tests, regression tests, acceptance tests, smoke tests, load tests and performance tests.

  • Implementing test scripts according to test plans and suggesting continuous improvements and enhancing automation tools.

  • Providing solutions for process improvements based on industry research of industry standards and best practices, analyzing and applying them to our system and certification processes.

  • Investigating interoperability issues, debugging and finding root cause for production issues

  • Ensure organization’s accreditation and certifications are in place to enable client implementations

  • Supporting client’s integration test phase.

  • Managing and coordinating with labs in establishing the tools and processes and client/vendor certifications.

  • Liaising with cross functional project areas to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues

Who are you?

  • You have a University Degree (computer systems and/or engineering preferred) and a strong technical background

  • Solid experience in testing and certification using different techniques, as well as best practices and methodologies

  • Strong EMV and payment knowledge and experience.

  • Strong expertise in Interac IMN / ISO messaging and in ISO8583 testing

  • Experience in client end-to-end implementation

  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills to manage deliverables.

  • Experience working with multiple internal stakeholders to understand requirements and create manual and automation test plans.

  • Experience using test tools to execute user acceptance tests for EMV based testing.
