Job Description

The person acts as a category expert to support business needs by leveraging retailer POS sales, consumer and shopper data into actionable insights for the Keurig Canada business and their partners. He or she liaises with Commercial Strategy & Marketing functions to build customer recommendations in order to demonstrate our category leadership while maximizing our mutual volume and profit. The person will report to the Team Lead, Category Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Key Account Managers in identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the beverage and appliance markets and turn them into meaningful observations & solutions to stimulate category growth;
  • Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders from Commercial Strategy or Marketing ensuring internal strategic alignment on category recommendations;
  • Accountable in presenting market trends and product competitiveness (4P analysis) resulting in fact-based strategies and tactics that will drive the retailers’ Category and Keurig Canada sales growth; 
  • Lead analyses collected from a range of different sources (ex. Nielsen, NPD) including also retailer databases (ex: Dunnhumby, IRI, LDIA). Identify business opportunities & recommendations.
  • Act as a key contact between internal and external partners, representing category leadership function at appropriate internal or customer meetings;
  • Analyze, prepare and present merchandising recommendations to key internal and external partners such as planograms;
  • Bringing forward suggested improvement in the data process (better, faster) that leads to decision making and enhance category leadership;
  • Support sales on any adhoc customer analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in marketing, administration or any other relevant field;
  • Planogram management software (JDA/Blue Yonder Space planning)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in category management in consumer goods, preferably in the food industry;
  • High proficiency with Nielsen (Workstation Plus, MarketTrack, Homescan, Connect Express)
  • Experience working with retailer POS/Loyalty databases (ex: Dunnhumby, IRI, LDIA) is an asset;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
