Ivanhoé Cambridge’s Canadian portfolio comprises over $9 billion in office, industrial, residential, hotel and other properties. In your capacity as an Analyst / Senior Analyst, Asset Management, Canada, you will assist the Canadian asset management team in the execution of their duties across the life cycle, from acquisition to disposition.

Your duties will include the following:

  • Prepare financial reports for decision-making purposes (performance evaluations, budget variances, returns forecasts, business plan comparisons, hold-sell analyses, etc.);
  • Contribute to drafting business plans, strategic plans, and operating and capital budgets; help the team prepare asset reviews;
  • Participate in the formulation of recommendations in line with established processes and policies as well as the terms of legal agreements governing company partnerships and practices;
  • Monitor select real estate markets and key data (vacancy, leasing and absorption rates; new development projects; etc.);
  • Participate to the review and analyze valuation reports for assigned assets;
  • Regularly update Argus Enterprise models or validate models provided directly by partners/managers;
  • Compile information from quarterly reports prepared by partners and submit for review;
  • Attend external partners’ quarterly meetings;
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations to senior management;
  • Contribute to the analysis and evaluation of asset disposition opportunities; issue relevant recommendations to the team and provide support for disposition processes, as required;
  • Visit properties, as needed;
  • Facilitate the sustainability of financial and management systems and data; make recommendations to ensure ongoing improvements to systems, tools and processes with a view to meeting the needs of the team and the organization as a whole;
  • Maintain high-quality business relationships with partners and team members, and act as a facilitator for various internal and external parties;
  • Carry out other tasks as needed.

The key to success !

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, administration, real estate, accounting, engineering or the equivalent; master’s degree, an asset;
  • C.App., CPA, CFA or equivalent designation, an asset;
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience in the specified fields;
  • Interest in the real estate industry; good grasp of core accounting concepts required;
  • Strong financial analysis skills;
  • Talent for liaising with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Strong sense of professional integrity;
  • Proactive, innovative and results-oriented;
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Argus and Power BI, an asset;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Excellent written and spoken French and English; solid business writing skills; .you will be working with partners across Canada.
  • Ability to distill and present information effectively; keen attention to detail; proactive and outgoing;
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with a collaborative team mindset;
  • Availability to travel with minimal notice;
  • Availability to work flexible hours on occasion, as needed.
