We are currently seeking a Shipper/Receiver at our Summerside, PEI fresh potato packing plant.  This is a seasonal hourly position, approximately October – June annually.  This position reports to the Manager, McCain Produce & Fertilizer PEI.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inventory control of all finished potato products and packaging.
  • Proper rotation of finished product.
  • Pertinent paperwork and verification of loads shipped.
  • Completion of CPIQ (Canadian Partners in Quality) & Customs documents.
  • Preparing mixed loads for shipments.
  • Forklift certification in accordance with McCain Global Safety standards would be required upon hire.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Shipping/receiving experience
  • Proven ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience operating a forklift in a safe manner.
  • Good safety record with the ability to demonstrate “safety first” on a continual basis.
  • Reliable, solutions-oriented and customer-focused
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be in the good physical condition and able to lift 50 lbs
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Must be willing to work unscheduled extended hours to meet business needs.
  • Must be able to operate effectively without onsite supervision.
