Position Summary:

As Social Media Specialist, you have both hands on the wheel as we drive awareness of our company, our brands, and the innovative new ways we are anticipating and meeting the needs of our customers. The ideal candidate will have high energy, a collaborative personality, be socially savvy and an expert social media planner, navigator, and conversationalist. Your verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are top-notch.

This opportunity allows you to represent our company and engage with our diverse stakeholders. You will be active both online and (COVID pending) at events, shaping and telling stories about our company with the sort of magnetic digital style and persona that leaves our social communities with a deeper affection for our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute a holistic social strategy to ensure a complete brand presence and consistency in brand personality across all relevant social channels.
  • Develop and execute channel strategies that build brand awareness and engagement, and increases Parkland’s online share of voice across LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok & YouTube.
  • Create and implement a social media calendar that provides engaging, educational, and inspiring content (stories, videos, photos, blogs, contesting) to drive awareness and affinity toward our brand and products.
  • Creating engaging text, images, and video content that build awareness of our company, creates conversation and sparks buzz with a continuous publishing strategy across all our channels.
  • Oversee social media accounts’ layout and flow.
  • Stand-up, organize and manage an influencer and ambassador program including relationship management, contesting and cross-promotion to support marketing communications campaigns.
  • Support the social execution of all marketing campaigns, product launches, community partnerships, events, and sponsorships through innovative and engaging social media posts and stories.
  • Collaborate with marketing to leverage insights and social listening tools to enhance social performance and consistently provide meaningful content and a positive experience to followers.
  • Set in place and manage social publishing and measurement tools, analyzing performance data to figure out tactics in optimizing post-performance, reporting on metrics and trends weekly.
  • Develop a framework for effectively engaging and harnessing our 6000 employees in our social media strategy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5-years of experience, establishing and delivering effective, engaging multi-channel social media strategies.
  • Post Secondary Degree – Marketing ideally.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and relentless focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Able to think strategically with a vision of Parkland’s future social media presence.
  • A track record of success and excellent knowledge and understanding of LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok & YouTube, and their algorithms.
  • A creative outlook, constantly scanning for new ideas backed-up with the ability to put them into action.
  • The ability to analyze and extract key trends and insights from social media reports and provide actionable recommendations that advance our social media objectives.
  • Experience with design programs and principles, photography, video creation and editing, and copywriting.
  • Passion for brand building and delighting consumers across digital and social media channels.
