Enbridge is looking for a Wind Turbine Technician to join their team at the Dorion Greenwich Wind Farm. The Wind Turbine Technician I will be responsible for the safe operations and maintenance of the turbines and Balance of Plant (BOP) at Dorion Greenwich Windfarm. This is an entry-level of the Wind Turbine Technicians. In this role, you will perform assigned scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of the wind turbines with the goal of maximizing uptime and production.

What You Will Do:
Safety:
Adhere to Enbridge safety standards, procedures and ensure a positive safety culture.
Ensure work is completed in accordance with safe work practices, including electrical safety, at heights, control of hazardous energy, confined space, and cargo management.
Demonstrate integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.
Specific Operations and Maintenance Tasks:
As a proficient technician, you will ensure the performance and maintenance of wind turbines at the Greenwich Wind Farm through assigned tasks. Your accountabilities will include:
Support the completion of scheduled / standard work such as regular maintenance
Troubleshooting of turbines (basic to more complex)
Actively participate in the completion of asset integrity inspections
Actively participate in the completion of unscheduled (minor and major) work
electrical switching of turbines
Utilize SCADA to support required work
You will also support activities related to the Balance of Plant (substation, collector system and switchyard) and civil work.
Work Execution:
Follow defined instructions and maintenance schedules, execute plans as directed and perform tasks according to reasonably detailed written and verbal instructions.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify risks and gaps in task execution in the operational environment of a Wind Turbine facility and apply mitigation methods with appropriate oversight.
Who You Are:
A High School Diploma with applied mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or equivalent experience. College Diploma or Technical School Certificate beneficial.
As a Level I technician, preferably 1 year of relevant work experience and the following minimum qualifications related to wind turbines:
Competent and qualified with Scheduled / Standard work
Competent and qualified with Troubleshooting (basic and advanced)
No experience or limited capabilities with Asset Integrity inspections:
No experience or limited capabilities with Unscheduled maintenance (minor and major)
Competent and qualified with Turbine electrical switching
Competent and qualified with SCADA
Specific experience on Siemens 2.3MW SWT 101 Wind Turbines
A proficient understanding of wind power-related systems, including, but not limited to pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, electrical, mechanical and power plant systems. Including the ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics.
Good interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail
Proven problem solving and time management skills.
Able to optimally collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision.
Working Conditions:
Although / the incumbent will be assigned to Greenwich Wind Farm in particular, the technician may be called to travel to other Enbridge facilities as needed.
The role requires a valid Driver’s License, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire and the ability to obtain a Passport.
The role will require being on-call (24/7) to respond to emergencies and/or maintenance needs of the site (on a pre-determined, scheduled basis).
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, the visual requirement (able to see screens, detect colour coding, read the fine print), hearing requirement.
Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes, but is not limited to, demonstrating hand, arm, back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and comply with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft. Employee understands that these requirements may be modified at the Company's discretion.
