The Trade Desk department responds to incoming trade needs from clients by phone and has a thorough understanding of local and international equity, option, fixed income, mutual fund and forex markets. They efficiently and accurately process client trade requests according to the directions received from clients. They are expected to have good technical knowledge of various trading platforms and their associated functionalities. The Trade Desk team also assists various departments within Questrade with market information, investigations and order processing. They may contact clients or ECNs & Exchanges directly to follow up on trade issues, investigations or other trade or platform concerns.

As a member of the Trade desk team, an investment representative (IR) is the primary and crucial first point of contact at the Questrade Trade desk contact centre. An IR will be responsible for handling all inbound calls in relation to trade-related topics while delivering stellar quality and accuracy of information prioritizing a client-centric focus. As a licensed IR, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge and deal with various trade-related topics such as equities, options, fixed income, precious metals, mutual funds, FX and more. What’s it like working as an Investment Representative/Trade Desk Representative at Questrade?
An Investment Representative (IR) will be responsible for handling all inbound calls to the Trade desk call centre. The licensed IR will be responsible for executing equities, options, fixed income, precious metals, mutual funds, and FX trades in an accurate and compliant manner.
In addition, an IR will be responsible to liaise between multiple departments to follow up on trade issues, investigations and other platform concerns.
You will deliver a superior client experience; going above and beyond each call to ensure top client satisfaction. You will become a product expert in all trade-related issues. Resolve any trade concerns in a professional manner. This will involve strong cross-communication between multiple departments to ensure client issues are solved effectively. You will become a go-getter – look for ways to enhance all client service experiences on the phone by ensuring processes are efficient and any issues are diligently dealt with and solved effectively. You will have extreme attention to detail by assisting in entering client trade requests in the most compliant and diligent manner. You will be a strong collaborator, by communicating with various executing exchanges, technology support, risk and credit, settlements, and client services teams to ensure proper handling and success of client issues.

NOTE:
Candidates who are not IIROC licensed IRs will be titled Trade Desk Representatives and will only be able to perform the non-registered tasks of the role. They will also be required to successfully complete additional Canadian Securities Institute courses to satisfy IIROC standards, including the CSC, CPH and DFOL within the timeframe discussed with the Manager, Trade Desk and in accordance with Questrade’s Educational Assistance Policy.
