As a member of the Regional Services team, reporting to the Manager, Regional Services this position is accountable for providing a range of education and relationship management services to a block of participating employers and their employees to meet client needs and promote HOOPP’s values and initiatives. This role requires travel across the province as well as the ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, with evening and/or weekend activities.
What you will do:
Serves as the Plan’s key relationship manager with a block of participating employers, which includes:
Developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with each assigned employer through regular, in-person meetings;
Ongoing and consistent contact with employers in order to understand their needs pertaining to HOOPP and to provide value-added services to them and their employees; Delivering HOOPP’s corporate and other key messages;
Ensure the Employers are aware of and understand their obligations as a partner in the administration of the plan including providing administrative training including initial orientation, refreshers and topic-specific reviews; ensuring compliance of these obligations
Proactively resolve any administrative issues HOOPP may be having with the employer and work collaboratively with the employer and across other functional areas of HOOPP in order to resolve them;
Providing guidance regarding the potential pension impacts on their organization and employees of any restructuring (amalgamations, group transfers, acquisitions and divestments, etc.);
Collecting and reporting on employer contacts and profile data and on feedback about HOOPP from the employer and their employees;
Responsible for providing education about the Plan for clients and other stakeholders:
Presentations to employers about the administration of the plan;
Training and education to employers on the use of HOOPP Insight;
Education and training to employers on the value of the HOOPP Plan
Educational presentations for members on the use of HOOPP Connect and in order to understand the service they will receive from HOOPP during significant life events
Individual Member meetings (one-on-ones) to assist members in understanding how their decision impacts their pension benefit
What you bring:
Superior client service and relationship management skills
Minimum 5 years of experience with pension plans, preferably defined benefit multi-employer plans
Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations in a variety of venues and to respond to questions
Outstanding interpersonal skills, judgment and professionalism
Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain HOOPP and other pension terminology and concepts in plain language
Good written communication and organizational skills
Self-motivated
A valid driver’s license is required
Registered Retirement Consultant certification is an asset
Fluency in French is an asset
