What You Will Do:
Manage or support Electrical, Controls and Energy Systems (EC&ES) projects and initiatives, including odourization, pre-odourization, content management integration, review of engineering drawings, and other projects such as fire suppression, generator installations and Digi and Electronic Recorder installations.
Recommend, supervise and interact with suppliers, contractors and consultants regarding availability, purchase and installation of new and replacement hardware, firmware, software and new technologies.
Support the designing, recommending, selecting, installing, calibrating, programming, commissioning, handling and maintaining components of communication systems. This includes systems for gate and regulation station assets, remote terminal units, station controls, wireless infrastructure, grounding systems, electrical cabling, low voltage and emergency/backup power supply systems, technology enhancements (radio replacements, transition from serial data to IP (internet protocol), encryption overlay, and increased network redundancies).
Focus on continuous improvement and explore new and emerging technologies with a view to optimize network coverage, path propagation, communication success rates, system performance, and minimize system disruption and down time.
Calibrate & troubleshoot activities of measurement devices in field settings.
Participate in On-Call duties, as required.
Primary response area will be focused but not limited to the Niagara Region (Area 80).
