The Senior Manager, Corporate Communications is a key member of a fast-paced and high-performing Corporate Communications & Sponsorship department. The Senior manager is responsible for protecting and strengthening our reputation while creating compelling stories to tell through our internal and external channels that help deliver our corporate and brand vision, business strategies and products & services growth. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications, the Senior Manager will work cross functionally with other members of the team, including those responsible for Product & Innovation Communications, Internal Communications, Government Relations & Public Affairs and Sponsorship & Citizenship to drive the department’s business-aligned communication goals and support the organization’s corporate strategy. The Senior Manager will also work closely with leaders from across the organization to effectively promote the depth and breadth of business expertise to our key audiences: business, customers, government, consumers and employees.

Being a leader who drives PR and corporate communications programs forward quickly and efficiently to generate positive results in a close-knit team environment
Spotting opportunities to strengthen PR and corporate communication programs by aligning cross-functionally across corporate priorities
Designing and executing media and digital communications strategies that deliver against the organization’s strategic priorities, product objectives and marketing plans to both internal and external audiences
Identifying and managing corporate reputation issues and providing strategic communications counsel and response direction to senior business leads and executives where appropriate.
Working strategically with senior level executives to shape and share the corporate story as a tool for business growth
Driving thought leadership opportunities for key executives by building relationships, developing material and successfully placing through external channels (messaging, speeches, and collateral as needed)
Working in-house and with agency partners to meet set time, budget, and resource parameters
Developing communications content for media, influencer, social and digital channels (e.g., press releases, digital newsroom content, infographics, media briefings, key messaging documents, videos, etc.)
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with the media to enhance understanding of the organization’s activities and positions on major issues, and to generate positive media coverage
Observing, investigating and recommending action where media communication is required, including acting as spokesperson or working with executive spokespeople
Proactively assessing stories and news, analyzing issues, developing well-thought-out solutions and messages
Identifying PR opportunities to amplify digital communications initiatives, activities, events, sponsorships, etc.
Working in agile environments where you can respond effectively to changing priorities
Acting as a people manager, and providing hands-on support, coaching and evaluation of a high performing team member
Experience in the financial, technology, fintech or payments sectors or a PR/digital communications agency is an asset.
Who are you?
Have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of corporate PR, media relations and social media experience
A senior-level communications professional with proven, hands-on experience in executing corporate, technology and public relations campaigns who can think strategically and execute tactically.
A self-starter and someone who is comfortable working with senior, cross-functional teams
Have exceptional writing and editing skills
Have a genuine passion and curiosity for the ever-growing and changing industry of technology, payments and data
Are data driven and methodical about KPIs and measuring results
Very comfortable and well versed with digital communication tools (intranet platforms, newsroom platforms and social media tools etc)
Can work on several projects simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines and communicating progress to senior leadership
Have a solid track record of excellence in developing and executing corporate public relations
Have very strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact with individuals and groups, spanning all organizational levels
