Working within Product Development Group and with various Product owners, your creativity, imagination, and designs will be in high demand as both a high level thinker and an individual contributor within the Design group as we deploy new products and services for Canadians. Working with the UI/UX Manager you will on products from initial ideation, iteration and review of wireframe and interactive concepts to high fidelity outputs, to working with developers to realize your creations in the drive to toward final deployment, your contributions are vital. Your interactions are not limited to an internal audience, as you and other member so the design team will also lead design sessions and gather feedback with external stakeholders, users, or partner organizations. Finally, the comprehensive design and style guides that will accompany your work will serve as a touchstone and inspiration to developers and Product Engineering teams alike.

Working with the UI/UX Manager and Product management team to align on user experience vision, strategy and roadmap for the platform.
Be equally comfortable delivering cohesive design solutions in mobile and desktop environments.
Creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, visual designs, final assets for integration, and other artifacts to support product development and enhancement process.
Rapidly iterating on design concepts and visualizations, taking on feedback from Product peers, user research, usage data and emerging trends.
Lead and take part in research and usability testing to build a deep understanding of the needs of the user base.
Clearly communicate your design choices and rationale to a varied audience, both internally and with key partners.
Understand existing products, identifying challenges, evolving existing UI/UX patterns.
Believing in, and always striving for designs that meet W3C WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A & AA web standards that are AODA compliant.
Providing expert advice, recommendations, and direction to teams to meet accessibility compliance.
Working closely with the Marketing and Brand teams to produce concepts and designs in line with organizational direction.
Collaborating with development and testing teams to instrument designs using tools like Google Analytics to capture in field feedback.
Who are you?
You have a Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or equivalent in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, Digital Web Software Design, related academic stream or equivalent professional experience.
You have a deep passion for both technology and business.
You understand tech and design trends, see how they impact our roadmap, and how they drive innovation.
You convey design concepts to design orientated people as well as turn design requirements into technical specifications.
You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deal at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
