Job Description

We are looking for a driven, motivated, and hard-working individual to join our Renewable Green Energy (Power) general ledger team!

This role will involve the preparation and timely completion of Operational Accounting general ledger, accurate and timely reporting of Power entities and assisting with financial system maintenance.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare journal entries to record monthly transactions in a timely manner for the monthly general ledger (GL) (revenue and operating accruals, net distributions, etc.)

  • Prepare monthly analysis and reconciliations on various accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions recorded

  • Completing preliminary trial balance review for Power entities

  • Lead the coordination of quarterly and annual operating accruals for Power

  • Proactively work with joint venture partners to record monthly transactions

  • Collaborate with various internal Power/Enbridge cross functional groups to understand any miscellaneous transactions, ensure accuracy or resolve any reconciling items/issues/discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet analysis for Power entities

  • Perform assessment of quarterly Power impairment analysis and related checklist

  • Perform accounting research as required based on Power materiality and analyze the impact of changes in accounting guidance with support of Accounting Research Expert team as needed

  • Prepare quarterly and annual analysis and supporting schedules for Enbridge Inc., external reporting or external auditors for Financial Statement filling (related party transactions, commitments, revenue recognition etc.)

  • Ensure SOX compliance and effective management of SOX documents and evidence

  • Providing ad hoc query support on various financial and production information requests/issues relating to Power assets and contracts;

  • Identify & provide recommendation for process improvements through a review of accounts and associated process

Who You Are

  • University degree in business or commerce/accounting.

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) with 2 to 4 years post qualification experience.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Proven interpersonal skills in dealing with and obtaining co-operation from others

  • Ability to work on tasks/assignments to meet tight deadlines

  • Good organizational skills; ability to manage several project deadlines concurrently

  • Strong computer skills; experience with various financial accounting systems and applications

  • High level of personal and professional integrity

  • Willing to work under pressure and some overtime to meet tight reporting deadlines

  • Proven oral and written communication skills both to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred:

  • US GAAP

  • Familiarity with Oracle, and Hyperion Smartview
