Qualcomm teases a dual-screen Windows 10 PC at its Tech Summit

Many companies have been experimenting with dual screen devices for quite some and will be coming up with newer dual screen devices in the near future. Microsoft is working on its Andromeda foldable tablets, Dell is also working a dual screen device.

Giving more impetus to the dual screen form factor Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 8cx chipset with 7 nanometer fabrication process. Qualcomm has been making chipsets exclusively for mobiles devices but 8cx has been built from the ground up for personal computers. Qualcomm announced about the Snapdragon 8cx at its Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit in Maui.The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx combines the best of the mobile device experience with the power and performance of a high end laptop providing “Always On, Always Connected PC” computing experience. In the promotional video for Snapdragon 8cx Qualcomm showcased a mock-up of dual screen Windows tablet hinting at the future of 8cx chipset in personal computing market.

Together with the Qualcomm® Kryo™ 495 CPU, the fastest ever in a Snapdragon, the Snapdragon 8cx is designed to deliver amazing graphics, powerful productivity, and multi-day battery life.

The integrated X24 LTE modem delivers peak download speeds of up to 2 Gbps, and improves throughput by up to 70% in poor network conditions over non-gigabit LTE**. High speed connected computing for fast and efficient productivity and entertainment, virtually anywhere.
